LA VIDA LLENA: 13 RESIDENTS WHO TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 NOW RECOVERED AFTER CONSECUTIVE NEGATIVE TESTS 5-4-2020

Facility Continues To Confine Positive Tests to Nursing Home; 99% of Other 415 Residents Still Negative

ALBUQUERQUE – After receiving around-the-clock medical care subsequent to having tested positive for COVID-19, 13 residents of La Vida Llena have recovered from the virus. The residents have each tested negative for COVID-19 twice consecutively – the New Mexico Department of Health benchmark for recovery.

“We continue to do everything we can to protect our residents and to make sure they stay healthy despite this unprecedented attack by an invisible enemy,” said DeAnn Eaton, the CEO of Haverland Carter Lifestyle Group, which operates La Vida Llena. “Every life is of enormous importance to our staff and we will do everything in our power to help our residents who have gotten sick recover,”

Ten of the recovered residents live in the LVL nursing home. Three live in LVL’s Independent Living apartments. Currently, seven residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 continue to get treatment in an isolated area of the nursing home. Three residents of the Independent Living apartments also continue to receive treatment after a positive test.

To date, 17 residents of the nursing home have passed away after a positive COVID-19 test.

“This has been bar none the most difficult challenge we’ve ever had to face,” said Eaton. “Like nursing homes across the U.S, we have been under attack. We grieve the loss of life even as we feel uplifted by these 13 recoveries. We will continue to do everything in our power to make sure everyone gets healthy and stays healthy.”
